New forklift course offered at ECC for fall 2017

A new forklift operator training course offered by Elgin Community College is aimed at increasing and enhancing employability for truck drivers and warehouse workers. The two-day, one-credit course will be offered in fall 2017 at the ECC Center for Emergency Services, 815 Plank Road, Burlington.

ECC board approves three-year contract with building engineers

The Elgin Community College District 509 Board of Trustees approved a new three-year contract agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) at its July 12 meeting, completing negotiations that began in June.

ECC to host Oct. 21 fair featuring more than 20 historically black colleges and universities

Representatives from more than 20 historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) will be at Elgin Community College on Saturday, Oct. 21, for a college fair. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Building B Jobe Lounge.
